Rumors of Microsoft Cellphone - To be announced early next year

Rumors are circulating that Microsoft might release its own branded version of a cellphone manufactured by Nvidia. It is likely to be announced in February! For more details, check out this, this and this.

Great! I can't wait to get my hands on the new Microsoft BSD.

I hope they come up with a better UI than Windows Mobile. They practically reinvented the desktop, so why are their phones getting spanked by the Iphone?

Microsoft has hard time changing things because they have to support old stuff. Imagine a brand spanking new Windows 2012 that is totally redesigned but would break most of current applications.

Keeping support for all legacy applications is one of the reasons Windows is such a bloat. Maybe they should sell two versions of windows. One that works with old stuff and other is a totally new rewrite. For a consumer, it would be like buying a Mac where none of their old software will work without requiring repurchase for Mac (in this case rewritten windows) version.
