According to this, the next software update for Sprint Instinct is scheduled to be available on 11/19:
"This just in from the Instinct team:
"MR-4 will be available 11/19 and can be downloaded via the device (Main Tab -> Settings -> General -> Update Software) or you can wait for our automatic updates."
This is the only information I have. Please see MR-4 Firmware Release Notes and Dates for more details about MR-4.

I finally returned my Instinct to Sprint on Monday. In a way, I was sorry that it came to that course of action. The Instinct had promised so much, but delivered so little. I still can't believe that Sprint are still pushing the 'Iphone beater' image.
I am more than happy with my Touch Diamond. I have made a few cosmetic changes such as the big clock and vista icon themes. I really didn't care for the sprint neon minimilistic look that came with the phone. Battery life has improved with use - something that is apparently common with these types of batteries. I have a car charger and a spare usb cable at work just in case!
It's still not as good as an Iphone, and with AT&T just launching 3G in my rural Texas area, then I will have to make a decision real soon, but for now it suffices.
