It seems that the phone's release is dependent on FCC approval. While Sprint was also known to have been working with Google on Android phone, T-Mobile HTC phone is expected to be the only Android phone available in the United States this year. Google had also organized an application contest and had received more than 1,700 entries!

It'll take Android a year or so to get their best handsets out with no major bugs. I look forward to getting them after I tire of my Instinct.
