Google's Android phone - HTC Dream to launch on October 13th?

According to several websites, some leaked documents indicate the official launch date of HTC Dream (T-Mobile G1) is likely to be October 13th and T-Mobile will start taking pre-orders from existing customers on October, 17th. It is likely to cost $199 after instant rebate and a new 2-year contract. There will probably be two unlimited data plans ($35 per month that includes unlimited data and text messaging and $25 per month that includes unlimited data and 400 text messages).

I hope it comes in black AND white and not just one color. I'm liking the white better. Black is just too outdated with phones. I can't wait to get this. I'm gonna sell my Instinct and whatever else I can to get out of Sprint.

From what I read, it will come in black, white and brown.

on a slightly unrelated note, can anyone tell me what they think of the htc touch? I'm going to try to talk Sprint into letting me exchange my Instinct for one...

Black, white, and brown huh? Not sure about the brown but hey, the more colors the better. Smart move HTC, T-Mobile and/or Google.

Dentpuzz, if I were you I'd wait for the US reviews to come out from other users and official reviewers like CNet. But if you can't wait, I'm sure Engadget, Gizmodo and other websites have reviews for you, and then some.

PS, Instead of brown, assuming it's true, why didn't they pick red instead? Color of feces or a more familiar color that is also as appealing as black and white? Hmm..

RE: Htc Touch. I was talking about the old one, not the new diamond. Anyway, it doesn't matter now as Sprint wouldn't let me trade my Instinct for one. They did however give me a brand new Instinct to replace my buggy one. Guess what... The new one crashed already.

I don't understand why they wouldn't just give me the damn Touch. They'd have saved themselves some cash right? The Touch is a cheaper phone?

I've tried all my options of getting rid of the Instinct, short of selling it on Ebay which I don't want to do. I guess I just have to wait in hope that Sprint will actually release a patch that matters. I personally don't think we'll ever see one...
